After some real fun days riding and spending some time at home, I flew across the ditch to NZ. Anders Forsell (World Cup & World Championship course builder) has been flown down from Sweden to build a training SBX course at Cardrona. He is a boss behind the controls of a cat, pushing and packing snow into perfectly level features that comes together like a work of art once he drags the final till through. Coach and I have been up helping a bit to design and give input over the last few days. I have dropped a few test runs to bank 1, which has had us making a few small tweaks, but overall it feels amazing so far. The next section will be the most critical of the whole course. It looks somewhat intimidating, due to the speed we’ll be carrying. I’ve ridden it in my mind around a hundred times, but when the next window of sunlight bursts through, I’ll be dropping in to test it. Cant wait to get that first run out of the way, because I’m 100% certain it will be the most fun, challenging full length course I have ever trained on. It’s exciting when I think about that… The opportunity my career has lead me to and at this point I could imagine it being any better. It’s a huge credit to my coach Benny for pulling all of it together to make it happen. Cardrona and all the crew have been so supportive and its going down a path of becoming the best off season training facility in the world. So cheers to that! For every moment I spend on this course I’ll be sure to have a grin from ear to ear, pushing my riding and enjoying this sport I love so much!… Be sure to keep an eye out for plenty of content over the next few weeks!
