^^^^ The Futures Camp ^^^^

What a fun week!!.. Somehow, in some of the worst weather Australian resorts have seen this winter, the SBX community from down under got together and created a very productive few days…

With a bit of a rough start, our national SBX events were forced to be postponed to a later date… Not only did we cop 80km wind gusts, but the visibility was as far as the end of your nose… A real bummer, but it didn’t stop everyone from trying… Hotham did their best, as well as all the coaches and riders who showed up to race. But no matter how much we all wanted it to go ahead, mother nature is always in control…

The following few days, I put on my coaches hat along with the rest of the national SBX team for the SSA Futures camp… Ramone Cooper did a rad job of setting up the best camp of its kind in Australia and with 30+ keen grommets ready to charge around Hotham, its pretty much all we did for the first part of the camp. Working on tucking, racing cat tracks and talking tactics on the lifts… Not only did I see plenty of talent amongst all the boys and girls, but also many uplifting and positive attitudes, which I have to say become some of the biggest part of creating a successful career in any sport. We got together the first afternoon and talked all things Boardercross, World Tours, Olympics and careers… There were some good stories shared that maybe lit a few fires inside the hearts of the next boardercross champs.

The whole week had a really good vibe to it and I can see a very bright future for Boardercross in Australia… It will be cool to see it all unfold over the next few years and hopefully, we can build an even stronger team in the future…

Thanks to all the crew who came up for the Futures Camp. It was a great experience to ride with you all!
